Fathers and Families Executive Director Glenn Sacks (pictured) appeared on CNN's The Joy Behar Show on Tuesday, February 1. The subject was the Halle Berry v. Gabriel Aubry and the Padma Lakshmi v. Adam Dell child custody battles. To watch the two segments, click here or on the photo above. In Berry v. Aubry, Berry has claimed the role of protective mother, releasing a statement at the end of January saying she has "serious concerns' for the well-being of her 2-year-old daughter Nahla "while in the care of her father for any extended period of time.' Berry adds that she is prepared "to take all necessary steps to protect her." Last summer Berry told Vogue that Aubry was an "amazing father," but she's apparently changed her mind. Aubry disputes the accusations, saying that "Halle's continuing allegations in the press are untrue and irresponsible" and that he's "a caring father" who "fully believes that a consistent and balanced living situation and two loving parents are crucial for their child even if Ms. Berry feels otherwise." In Lakshmi v. Dell, the rather underwhelming case against Adam Dell is laid out by Slate.com in The Pathetic Case of Padma's Ex-Boyfriend (2/1/11). Fathers and Families Board member Robert Franklin, Esq. discusses the Slate piece here. Dell's lawyer recently told the New York Post that his client just "wants to have an active and substantial role in the upbringing of his daughter with Padma Lakshmi. Unfortunately, Ms. Lakshmi has severely limited his time with their daughter and has refused to negotiate a reasonable co-parenting agreement. Mr. Dell has tried his best to avoid going to court, but Ms. Lakshmi has given him no other choice at this time."
